1. Third case of COVID-19 in Jeju confirmed
Epidemiological investigation to determine patient’s travel route conducted

The third case of COVID-19 in Jeju has been confirmed eight days after the Island’s second patient tested positive for the virus.

According to the provincial government, the third patient is a 48-year-old female living in Daegu City. She visited the island on February 23rd via T’way Air and has stayed at an acquaintance's home in Hamdeok-ri, Jocheon-eup.

She has shown symptoms of congested nasal passages and a hoarse voice since February 27. She was tested for the virus after hearing the news that her mother had tested positive for COVID-19.

Her acquaintance has shown no symptoms so far and is being tested for the virus.

The province is conducting an epidemiological investigation to find out her travel routes and people who may have come in contact with her. Five spots where she visited are closed and 11 people who contacted her are self-quarantined.

Local government is also investigating the relationship between her and Shincheonji Church of Jesus.

So far, in Jeju, a soldier and an employee of WE Hotel were confirmed to be COVID-19 patients.

제주서 세 번재 코로나 확진자 발생…48살 대구 여성

제주에서 코로나 19 확진 환자가 나온지 8일 만에
세 번째 확진자가 발생했습니다.

제주도에 따르면
세 번째 확진환자는 대구에 사는 48살 여성 A씨로,
지난달 23일 티웨이 항공편을 이용해
대구에서 제주로 들어온 이후
조천읍 함덕리에 있는
지인의 집에 머문 것으로 알려졌습니다.

A씨는 지난 달 28일부터
코막힘, 목 잠김 등의 증상을 보였으며
어제(1일) 대구에 사는
자신의 어머니가 코로나 판정을 받자
제주시내 병원에서 검사를 받은 결과
확진 판정을 받았습니다.

다행히 A씨의 함께 지내던 지인은
특이 증상이 없는 것으로 알려졌으며
검체 검사를 진행할 예정입니다.

제주도는
A씨의 동선과 접촉자 등 역학조사를 벌이고 있으며
우선 파악된 5곳에 대해서는 임시 폐쇄하고
A씨의 접촉한 11명을 자가격리 조치했습니다.

이와 함께 제주도는
A씨와 신천지와의 연관성에 대해서도
조사하고 있습니다.

한편, 지난달 21일 현역 군인이,
다음날인 22일에는 서귀포에 있는 호텔 직원이
제주에서 코로나 확진 판정을 받았습니다.
