5. Demand for living in Jeju drops
Lowest population flow increase since 2011

As Jeju’s popularity fades, the net inflow of people entering Jeju to live is also decreasing.

According to the Honam Regional Statistical Office, last year, the number of newcomers in Jeju was 94,000, and the number of people leaving the island was 92,000. This leaves the Island with a net inflow population of only 2,900.

This is the first time since 2011 that the net inflow of population is in the 2,000s.

When the proportion of new arrivals is organised by province, Gyeonggi-do Province was the highest with 25.4%, followed by Seoul with 24.2% and Busan with 7.5%.

5. 제주살이 열풍 시들…순유입 인구 감소세

제주살이 열풍이 시들해지면서
제주로 들어오는 순유입 인구가
감소하고 있습니다.

호남지방통계청에 따르면
지난해 제주지역
전입자 수는 9만 4천여 명,
전출자 수는 9만 2천여 명으로,
순유입 인구는 2천 900여 명에 그쳤습니다.

순유입 인구가 2천명 대로 떨어진 건
지난 2011년 이후 처음입니다.

전입자의 시도별 비중을 보면
경기도가 25.4%로 가장 높았고,
서울 24.2%, 부산 7.5% 순으로
제주에 유입된 것으로 조사됐습니다.
