4.Some Jeju taxi companies agree to reduce working burden for drivers
Participating companies require drivers pay 400,000 won per month less

As the number of taxi passengers decreased in the aftermath of COVID19, some taxi companies in Jeju Island have agreed to reduce the working burden for their drivers.

According to Jeju Island, the National Taxi Industry Union (KCTU) and the Taxi Transport Business Union (KCTU) recently signed a labor-management cooperation agreement.

As a result, 800 taxi drivers from 19 out of the 34 taxi companies in the province will be required to submit 400,000 won per month less to their company by adjusting their in-house payments from the 23rd until the end of April.

As the number of taxi passengers is decreasing due to the COVID19 crisis, the number of retirees in the taxi industry is double the regular monthly average. Daily operating income is also decreased by an average of 25% per day.

전국택시산업노동조합 제주지역본부와 택시운송사업조합이
최근 노사 상생협약을 체결했습니다.

이에따라 도내 택시업체 34곳 가운데
19곳에 종사하는 택시기사 800여 명에 대해
오는 23일부터 4월까지
택시 1대당 사납금 조정 등을 통해
월 40만 원 상당의 부담을 줄이기로 했습니다.

한편 코로나 사태로 택시 승객이 감소하면서
택시업계 퇴직자가 월 평균 두배 가량 늘었고
운행 수입도
하루 평균 25% 감소한 것으로 파악되고 있습니다.
