4·3 Memorial Ceremony to be carried out on smaller scale.

Jeju Island is encouraging people to participate in the online service for the 4.3 Incident Victims' Memorial Ceremony. The scale of this year’s ceremony is reduced to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Elderly people aged 65 or older as well as chronically ill citizens who are vulnerable to infectious diseases are banned from attending the memorial ceremonies. The memorial services in each village are being reduced in scale.

People can access a cyber memorial on the website of the 4.3 Peace Foundation. An online memorial hall to offer tributes to the deceased has also been established on the website of the Jeju Provincial Government.

Jeju Island will carry out the 72nd anniversary of the 4.3 Incident Victims' Memorial Ceremony on April 3, with only 150 people, including bereaved family members and officials, at the 4.3 Peace Park.

온라인 추모 동참을 독려하고 있습니다.

감염병에 취약한 65살 이상 노인이나 만성질환자 등은
추념식에 참석하지 못하도록 했고
마을별 위령제도 축소해 봉행하도록 요청했습니다.

대신 4.3평화재단 홈페이지에 사이버 참배관,
제주도청 홈페이지에 온라인 추모관을 각각 개설해
4.3 영령에게 헌화하고
추모글을 남길 수 있도록 했습니다.

150여 명만 참석시킨 가운데
