3. President Moon urges passage of April 3rd Incident Special Revision Bill
First president to attend 4.3 Incident Ceremony twice while in Office.

President Moon Jae-in assured the island that his administration is making every effort to make official what really happened on Jeju island during the April 3rd Incident.

His remarks came at the 72nd annual ceremony to commemorate the tragic event. He also urged the National Assembly to pass the revision bill on the April 3rd Incident which has been pending for years.

He added that resolution of the unresolved historic tragedy is a matter of common sense and a humane attitude toward the pain of neighbors, not a matter of politics and ideology.

President Moon emphasized that the path to resolving the incident is justice and reconciliation that settles the past wrongs and heals the pain.

The president also attended the ceremony in 2018. He is the first president to attend the ceremony twice while in office.

그러면서 "4.3 해결이 잘못된 과거를 청산하고
치유하는 정의와 화해의 길"이라는 점을 강조했습니다.

문 대통령의 4.3 희생자 추념식 참석은
지난 2018년 이후 두 번째로,
재임 중 이 행사에 두 번 참석한 대통령은
문 대통령이 처음입니다.
