Island’s budget expenditure rate and debt ratio increase
Increase attributed to land compensation and maintenance of urban planning facilities

The province’s budget expenditure rate and debt ratio have increased in 2019 compared to the year before.

According to the province’s balancing accounts last year, the budget expenditure rate was 90.05%. This is an increase from 86.9% in 2018 and 83.3% in 2017.

The difference between revenue and expenditure was 650 billion won, decreased by 160 billion won compared to the year before. The amount carried forward was reduced by 100 billion won as well.

The island’s total debt was about 1.05 trillion won. This is an increase of 135 billion won compared to 2018. The debt ratio of the provincial government was 4.3% which is the highest figure in the past 3 years.

The province explained the increased debt ratio is because loans have increased due to maintenance of urban planning facilities and land compensation.

지난해 세입세출 재무결산을 실시한 결과
예산 집행률은 90.05%로
2018년 86.9%, 2017년 83.3%에 비해 높아졌습니다.

이에따라 세입과 세출의 차액이 6천 500억 여원으로
전년보다 1천 600억 여원 감소했고 이월액도 1천억 원 줄었습니다.

반면 제주도의 총 부채는
전년보다 1천 350억 원 늘어난 1조 470억 원으로
부채 비율이 4.3%로 나타났으며
최근 3년 중 가장 높은 것으로 분석됐습니다.

제주도는
도시계획시설 정비와 토지 보상을 위한
외부차입금이 신규 발생하면서
부채비율이 늘어난 것이라고 설명했습니다.
