Natural Monument 'Jeju Horse' relocated at Jeju Mabang Ranch
Employees to be dispatched for accident prevention

As temperatures rise, the Jeju Livestock Promotion Agency moved 131 Jeju horses, a natural monument that had been raised in grazing areas within the agency, to the Jeju Horse Pastureland located off of 5.16 road.

For effective grazing and species management, the Jeju Horse Pastureland will be divided into two areas. The breeding and foal production will also take place during the grazing period.

The foal born during that period will be sold to farms in the province through an open auction around November.

The Korea Livestock Promotion Agency is placing employees on grazing lands for disease and accident prevention.

천연기념물 제주마 131마리를
5.16 도로변의 제주마방목지로 옮겨 관리합니다.

효과적인 방목과 사양관리를 위해
제주마방목지를 2개소로 나눠 운영하며
방목기간 중 교배와 망아지 생산이 이뤄집니다.

이 때 생산된 망아지는
11월쯤 공개 경매를 통해 도내 희망농가에 매각됩니다.

축산진흥원은
방목지에 직원을 고정 배치해
질병예찰과 안전사고 예방을 확인하게 됩니다.
