KCTV and Provincial Office of Education make joint agreement
KCTV Jeju installs free internet for online educational courses

E-learning is under way for many students around the island through online platforms. KCTV Jeju is providing free installation of the internet for families without online access.

KCTV Jeju and the Jeju Special Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education signed a business agreement on the morning of the 9th at the Jeju Provincial Office of Education with the following protocols.

Under this agreement, KCTV Jeju is providing free Internet installation and support for online learning for 1,800 students in the province. These are students who do not currently have access to the Internet.

Lee Seok-moon, the superintendent of the Office of Education said that they will provide free Internet service to Jeju students for the first time in history. He stresses that the Internet access will not only secure students’ right to an education, but will have a positive impact on the local community which has been under stress due to the COVID-19 crisis.

The CEO of KCTV Jeju Broadcasting Corporation said that he hopes this social contribution effort will be helpful to families and students who are struggling with COVID-19.

9일 오전 제주도교육청 교육감실에서
이같은 내용을 골자로 한 업무협약을 체결했습니다.

이번 협약으로 KCTV 제주방송은
인터넷이 없는 도내 학생 1천 800여명을 대상으로
온라인 학습을 위한 인터넷을 무료로 설치 지원하게 됩니다.

이 자리에서 이석문 교육감은
전국 최초로 제주 학생들에게 인터넷 서비스를 무료 지원하게 됐다며
학생들의 학습권 보호는 물론
코로나19로 어려워진 지역경제에 희망이 될 것이라고 강조했습니다.

또 공대인 KCTV 제주방송 대표는
이번 사회공헌 노력이
코로나19로 어려움을 겪고 있는 가정과 학생들에게
조금이나마 도움이 되기를 희망한다고 말했습니다.
