4. 99.7% students log in on first day of online homeschooling
2nd phase began April 16
The second phase of online homeschooling kicked off on April 16th for the first two grades of middle and high school as well as the fourth, fifth and sixth grades of elementary schools.
The provincial education office says that 99.7 percent of local students were sitting in front of their computer to take online classes in Jeju on the first day of the second phase of online homeschooling. This means 190 students out of 58,000 missed their classes.
The attendance rates were the highest in middle schools with 99.8 percent attendance. This was followed by 99.7 percent attendance for highschool students while 99.6 percent of elementary school students joined their classmates online.
Experts attribute the lowest participation rate of 99.3 percent by fourth graders of elementary schools to technical glitches from class platforms.
