2. Councilor points out blind spot in emergency relief payment
Governor said people whose incomes plunged will receive payment

The inquiry session during the provincial council’s special session on Wednesday, dealt with the province’s emergency relief payment and local issues.

Councilor (김황국) Kim Hwang-guk pointed out that government contract workers are excluded from the emergency relief payment beneficiary list.

Governor Won Heeryong answered that basically employees whose paychecks have plunged from the impact of COVID-19 are eligible for the relief payment, therefore, his office will pay the funds to government contract workers if their paychecks were impacted.

Councilor (박호형) Park Ho-hyeong also proposed building a leisure complex at the former (탐라) Tamna University properties in Seogwipo.


도정질문 이틀째, "긴급생활지원금 사각지대 우려"

제주도의회 임시회 도정질문 이틀째인 수요일 코로나19에 따른 긴급생활지원금 적정 배분 논란과 함께 각종 지역 현안들이 쟁점으로 다뤄졌습니다.

도정질문에서 김황국 의원은 제주형 긴급생활지원금 지급 대상에서 무기계약 공무직들이 빠져 있어 사각지대 우려가 있다고 지적했습니다.

이에 대해 원 지사는 코로나19로 소득이 급감한 근로자들이 아닌 경우 기준 대상에서 빠져 있다며 공무직이더라도 만약 소득이 줄어들었다는 점이 확인이 되면 지원을 하겠다고 답했습니다.

또 박호형 의원은 매입 후 활용방안을 찾지 못하고 있는 탐라대학교와 관련해 이를 활용한
서귀포지역의 종합레저타운 조성을 제안하기도 했습니다.
