4. Korean Air to sell Jeju Employee Housing
Site managed by Korean Air for over 40 Years

Korean Air, currently under stress due to COVID-19, has decided to sell its employee housing site in Jeju Island after 41 years of operation.

A Korean Air official said the company recently signed a 30 billion won contract to sell its employee housing site in Yeondong, Jeju City.

As the number of employees increased due to the expansion of the hotel business in 1979, Korean Air built and operated 22 employee housing units in the form of two-story villas on a 9,400 square meter site in Jeju City.

Currently, more than 100 employee households that have moved into the company housings have been notified of their eviction by the end of this year. Korean Air plans to individually pay for their employees’ housing in Jeju.

4. 대한항공, 제주 사원주택 부지 41년만에 매각

코로나19 사태로 위기를 겪고 있는 대한항공이
제주도의 사원 주택 부지를 41년만에 팔기로 했습니다.

대한항공 관계자는 최근 제주시 연동에 있는
사원주택 부지 매각 계약을
300억 원대에 체결했다고 밝혔습니다.

대한항공은 지난 1979년
호텔 사업 확장으로 직원이 늘자
제주시 연동 9천 4백여 제곱미터 규모의 부지에
2층 빌라 형태의 사원주택 22동을 지어 운영해왔습니다.

현재 사택에 입주한 직원 100여 가구는
연내 퇴거를 통보 받은 상태로
대한항공은 이후 제주 근무자에게 체류비를 지급한다는 방침입니다.
