5. Fair Trade Commission approves Jeju Air's acquisition of Easter Airlines
Eastar under financial stress since 2013

The Fair Trade Commission has approved Jeju Air's acquisition of Eastar Airlines.

The FTC announced that they have reviewed and made an exception to approve Jeju Air's Eastar Jet business M&A. They recognized Eastar Jet as a non-recoverable company defined by the Fair Trade Act.

Eastar Jet's capital erosion has continued since 2013. Recovery was deemed to be difficult due to accumulated operating deficits in the aftermath of the Japanese boycott and COVID 19.

예외적으로 결합을 승인한다고 밝혔습니다.

이스타항공은
2013년부터 지난해까지 자본잠식 상태가 계속됐고
일본 불매운동과 코로나19 여파로
영업 적자가 누적돼
회복이 어려울 것으로 판단됐습니다.
