People violating self-isolation quarantine rules regarding COVID-19 must wear a location tracking device.

Jeju Island has decided to use safety bands in the form of an electronic wrist bracelet to manage those who violate self-quarantine guidelines. Violations include unauthorized departures or unanswered housecall checks.

The safety band is equipped with a location tracking function. If the person deviates more than 20 meters from their self-isolation area, or the wristband is damaged or cut, the official in charge is notified and police officers are dispatched.

Those who refuse to wear the band will be forced to be quarantined at designated facilities and will be responsible for the full cost.

On Jeju Island, there are currently more than 400 people being managed through self-quarantine measures. These people have a history including recent overseas visits or confirmed contact with infected patients.

자가격리 지침을 위반하는 경우
전자손목팔찌 형태의 안심밴드를 착용시켜 관리하기로 했습니다.

안심밴드는 위치추적 기능이 탑재돼
자가격리 지역에서 20미터 이상 이탈하거나
훼손, 절단할 경우
담당 공무원에게 통보돼 경찰이 출동하게 됩니다.

착용을 거부하면 시설에 격리되고
이에 따른 비용은 전액 본인이 부담해야 합니다.

한편 제주에는
확진자와 접촉하거나 해외방문 이력이 있는 400여 명이
자가격리 상태로 관리되고 있습니다.
