Daejeong offshore wind power generation pilot zone motion denied
16 votes in favor, 20 against, 6 abstentions


The motion to designate a pilot zone for Daejeong offshore wind power generation, originally passed by the standing committee, was eventually rejected.

The Jeju Provincial Council held a plenary session on the afternoon of the 29th to pass various ordinances and agreements. The motion to designate a pilot zone for Daejeong Marine Wind Power Generation was rejected through a vote involving 42 lawmakers. 16 were in favor, 20 against, with 6 abstentions.

Yang Byung-woo, a member of the provincial assembly, expressed his opposition, saying that if the motion was passed, it would bring about conflicts among residents similar to the Gangjeong naval base motion in the past.

찬성 16명, 반대 20명, 기권 6명으로 부결됐습니다.

투표에 앞서 양병우 도의원은 의사진행발언을 통해
상임위원회에서 부대의견이 달렸지만
통과된다면
과거 강정해군기지와 같이
주민 갈등을 불러올 것이라며 반대입장을 피력했습니다.
