1. 196,000 tourists flock to Jeju during 'Golden Week'
Koreans account for vast majority of tourists

More than 196,000 tourists flocked to Jeju during the golden holiday. The holiday lasted from late last month until Children's Day.

Koreans accounted for the vast majority of the tourists totaling 195,000, while the number of foreigners was a mere 600. This is a decrease in 98% from the same period last year.

Statistics also revealed that this is a 37 percent drop from the 315,000 tourists that were recorded during the same period last year, with an average of 28,000 people visiting Jeju per day this year.

The Jeju provincial government determined that tourists who visited Jeju during this time mainly visited outdoor tourist attractions, stayed in a family or two-person unit and drove rental cars. Roughly 60% of the travelers were recorded as wearing masks.

19만 6천여명이 제주에 몰렸습니다.

내국인은 19만 5천여명으로 대부분을 차지한 가운데
외국인은 600명으로
지난해 같은기간 대비 98% 줄었습니다.

지난해 같은 기간 31만 5천명에 비교해 37% 감소한 것이며
하루평균 2만 8천여명이 제주를 찾았습니다.

이번에 제주를 찾은 관광객들은
주로 렌터카를 타고
가족단위 또는 2인 형태로 야외관광지를 방문했으며
마스크 착용은 60% 수준이었다고 제주도는 분석했습니다.
