3. Province seeking new mayors for Seogwipo, Jeju City
Applications being accepted through May 18

Applications are being accepted for new mayors of both Seogwipo and Jeju City. The deadline is May 18th.

The position of mayor will be applied for in what’s known as an Open Position System, which opens the mayor positions to the public, including civil and non-civil servants nationwide.

After receiving applications, committees will select two to three candidates for each city.
Nominees will then need to pass a confirmation hearing at the provincial council.

The governor will make a final decision after a confirmation hearing by the provincial council.

Their terms will be two years from the day they are appointed.

12일부터 시작해 오는 18일까지 이뤄집니다.

행정시장은 개방형 직위로
공직 내외를 포함해 전국단위에서 응모 원서를 접수합니다.

원서 접수가 마무리되면
선발시험위원회 심사와 인사위원회를 통해 후보자를 추리고
이어 도의회 인사청문을 거쳐
제주도지사가 최종 임용 여부를 결정합니다.

행정시장의 임기는 취임 후 2년 입니다.
