2. Councilors: '2nd round of Jeju’s support fund should be paid to all residents'
Current system unable to appropriately assess residents’ support needs

Councilors of the Jeju Provincial Council urged the Jeju government to distribute the 2nd round of emergency support funding to all residents with no restrictions.

Park Won-cheol, floor leader of the Democratic Party, and Oh Young-hee, floor leader of the United Future Party, pointed out that the initial support funding resulted in 15 billion won in unused funds and considering that 6,000 objections were filed, this was not a properly managed support system.

They stressed that the current emergency support system is based on selective and varied levels of support. Instead, it should be provided to all provincial residents as there are limitations to addressing the difficulties of those who are self-employed, small business owners, day laborers, and irregular workers.

2. "제주형 2차 지원금 모든 도민에 지급해야"

제주도의회 더불어민주당 박원철 원내대표와
미래통합당 오영희 원내대표는
22일 오후 도의회에서 기자회견을 갖고
2차 재난긴급생활지원금을 모든 도민에게
지급할 것을 제주도에 촉구했습니다.

이들 여야 도의회 원내대표는
1차 지원금 지급 결과 150억원의 불용액이 발생했고
6천건의 이의신청이 들어온 것만 봐도
제대로 된 지원이 아니라고 지적했습니다.

선별적, 차등적 지원을 전제로 한
현재의 재난긴급생활지원금 제도는
자영업자와 소상공인, 일용직, 비정규직 노동자들의
어려움을 해소하는데 한계가 있는만큼
모든 도민에게 재난지원금이 지급되야 한다고 강조했습니다.
