2. Public discussions on the 2nd airport will begin July 2
Final agreement to be finalized before December

The public discussions on the island's second airport will start from July 2.

The Jeju Provincial Council's Special Committee on the Resolution of Conflict at the Second Airport announced that they will wrap up three closed-door discussions that were held with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport along with airport opposition groups. Discussions will now be open to the public, with the meetings held once a week for four weeks. A fifth public discussion will be held if necessary.
The first round is slated to be held on July 2nd.

Three representatives from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, & Transport will join another three representatives from the opposition group to discuss the need for airport infrastructure, the usability of the existing airport, and location selection.


The special committee stated that they are planning to reach an agreement based on the results of the forum before the end of December.

2. 7월 2일부터 제2공항 공개연속토론회 개최

제2공항 관련 공개토론회가 오는 7월 2일부터 잇따라 열립니다.

제주도의회 제2공항 갈등해소특별위원회는
국토부, 반대단체와 함께 진행한
3차례의 비공개토론회를 마무리하고
7월 2일 1차 토론을 시작으로
매주 1회씩 4차례의 공개토론회를 진행한다고 밝혔습니다.

국토부와 비상도민회의 양측에서 각각 3명씩 참석해
공항 인프라의 필요성과
기존 공항 활용가능성,
입지선정 주제를 가지고 토론하게 됩니다.

이후 4차 종합토론과 함께
필요하다면 협의를 거쳐
5차 추가 토론도 진행한다는 계획입니다.

도의회 갈등해소 특위는 활동기간이 끝나는 12월 이전까지
토론회 결과를 바탕으로
도민 합의점을 도출할 계획이라고 밝혔습니다.
