7. PoE actively responds to combating hate speech in schools
Joint efforts will establish new protective measures

The Jeju Provincial Office of Education has decided to respond actively in creating a school culture of respecting human rights by combatting the use of hate speech.

A joint agreement has been declared by Superintendent of Education, Lee Seok-moo, along with the National Council of Superintendents of Education and the National Human Rights Commission of Korea.

With the joint declaration, schools will establish protective measures for students and faculty members against negative and hateful speech targeting groups related to gender, disability, religion and age.

제주도교육청이
청소년 인권 존중을 위한 학교문화 조성을 위해
혐오 표현 사용에 강력 대응하기로 했습니다.

이석문 교육감을 비롯해
전국시도교육감협의회와 국가인권위원회는
이 같은 내용을 골자로 한 공동선언에 참했습니다.

이번 공동 선언으로 앞으로 학교에서
성별이나 장애, 종교, 나이 등
특정집단에 대한 부정적 표현이나
혐오 표현으로부터
학생과 교직원들을 위한 보호 대책을 수립하기로 했습니다.
