Province to create one-way streets in downtown Jeju City
400m of alley streets will be converted to ease traffic congestion

Some alley streets in downtown Jeju City, where traffic is heavily congested due to narrow roads, will be reconstructed as one-way streets.

Jeju City has decided to convert a 250-meter stretch of road near the National Pension Service Corporaion buildings and a 190-meter section of Geonju-ro (건주로) in Samyang-dong into one-way streets.

As the two-lane roads will be modified to create one lane, the second lane will be used as parking spaces.

Administrative notices and construction are currently underway and the roads will operate as one-way streets as early as next month.

도남·삼양 일부 구간 '일방통행' 추진

도로폭이 좁아 교통정체가 심한
제주시 도심 일부 이면도로가 일방통행로로 조성됩니다.

제주시는
도남동 청사로 3길 국민연금관리공단 인근 도로
250미터 구간과
삼양동 건주로 3길 190미터 구간을
일방통행 도로로 전환하기로 했습니다.

현재 행정예고와 공사가 진행되고 있으며
이르면 다음달부터 일방통행로로 운영될 예정입니다.

해당 구간이 일방통행로로 전환되면
기존에 양방향으로 운행했던 한쪽 차선은
한 줄 주차 공간으로 활용할 계획입니다.
