8. Nighttime drinking and eating to be prohibited at large beaches
Jeju’s Hamdeok and Hyeopjae beaches included

The national government is prohibiting the consumption of alcohol and food during the evening hours on beaches in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries made an announcement on the 8th that an administrative order will be issued restricting the consumption of alcohol as well as eating on beaches at night.

The new policy will only apply to large beaches that draw more than 300,000 visitors a year. Those beaches include Hamdeok and Hyeopjae beaches in the Jeju district.

The provincial government will finalize the plan after conducting an internal meeting.

해양수산부는
대형 해수욕장에서 야간 음주나 취식 행위를 금지하는 내용의
집합제한 행정명령을 발령한다고 밝혔습니다.

적용 대상은 연간 이용객 30만명 넘는 대형 해수욕장이며
제주에서는 함덕과 협재해수욕장이 해당됩니다.

한편 제주도는
검토 회의를 거쳐
음주 행위 금지 여부를 최종 확정할 방침입니다.
