4. Next year's minimum wage rises 1.5% to ￦8,720
Smallest increase since 1988

The minimum wage for next year is set at 8,720 won, which is an increase of 1.5 percent from this year's minimum wage.

The Minimum Wage commission held its ninth plenary session on the morning of the 14th and decided to raise next year’s minimum wage to 8,720 won. That’s an increase of 130 won.

When converted to a monthly salary, the total amounts to 1,822,480 won which is 27,170 won more than this year's salary.

The minimum wage increase rate of 1.5% is the lowest rate since 1988 when the minimum wages were first introduced in Korea.

4. 내년 최저임금, 1.5% 오른 8천720원

내년도 최저임금이 올해보다 1.5% 오른 8천720원으로 결정됐습니다.

사회적 대화 기구인 최저임금위원회는
14일 새벽 9차 전원회의를 열고
내년도 최저임금 시급을 올해보다 130원 오른
8천720원으로 의결했습니다.

월급으로 환산하면 182만2천480원으로
올해보다 2만7천170원이 많습니다.

내년도 최저임금 인상률 1.5%는
외환위기 때인 1988년 이후 가장 낮은 수준입니다.
