9. Concerns over crop damage caused by frequent rain
Management warning issued

A high degree of damage to crops is being expected as the rainy season continues. Special attention is being called for to remedy the issue.

The Jeju Agricultural Research and Extension Services issued a crop management warning as the rainy season, which began last month, has lasted longer than usual and the number of rainy days has also increased.

There are several concerns, including the possibility of black rot in field tangerines, as well as high temperature damage caused by power outages in facility houses, and the surge in pests and gummy stem blight affecting field crops.

The institute has advised that local tangerines and field crops be controlled before and after rain, and facility houses be frequently monitored for problems.

장마철 잦은 비날씨로 농작물 피해가 예상되면서
관리에 주의가 요구됩니다.

제주도농업기술원은
지난달 시작된 장마가 평년보다 길고
강우일수도 늘어남에 따라
농작물 관리주의보를 발령했습니다.

특히 노지감귤의 경우 검은점무늬병,
시설하우스는 정전에 의한 고온 피해,
밭작물은 역병 또는 덩굴마름병 발생이 우려되고 있습니다.

농업기술원은 노지 감귤과 밭작물은
비가 내리기 전이나 그친 후 이틀 이내에 방제하고
시설하우스는 누전 차단기 등 시설을 수시로 점검해야 한다고 당부했습니다.
