1. Jeju’s first tertiary infection, 26th patient
Province assures that risk of community spread is low

Jeju Island’s 26th coronavirus patient, who was diagnosed after coming into contact with patients numbers 21 and 24 at a bar, was confirmed to be the first tertiary case of infection on the island.

The province explained that the patient was infected by patients No. 21 and 24, who came into contact with patient No. 20 from Gwangjin-gu, is considered to be a tertiary case of infection.

There were previously cases of secondary infections reported on the island, where family members of patient No. 9 were infected, but this is the first time in Jeju where a person has been infected by a secondary infected person.

The province assured the public that the possibility of viral spread in the community is low, given that close contacts of patient No. 26 were confirmed to be negative.

두 단계를 거쳐 3차 감염까지 이르게 된 것은
이번이 제주에서 처음입니다.

제주도는 다만
26번 확진자의 밀접 접촉자가 음성으로 나온 점에 미뤄
지역사회 전파 가능성은
낮은 것으로 판단된다고 덧붙였습니다.
