4. Fruit drop of tangerines ends early
Farmers hasten fruit thinning 10 days earlier than normal

Due to the prolonged rainy season this year, the fruit drop of tangerines has ended earlier than normal, and the importance of fruit thinning is becoming more evident.

According to the Jeju Agricultural Research and Extension Services, the long rainy season caused temperatures to be consistently low while the amount of sunshine declined. This led to the fruit drop ending in the middle of last month, four days earlier than last year.

As a result, the fruit attached to the tangerine trees have become secure and they no longer fall naturally, so farmers are entering the fruit thinning phase about 10 days earlier than normal.

The Institute plans to organize on-the-spot training teams to promote on-site training and strengthen instruction for crop and agricultural groups.

4. 감귤 낙과 일찍 종료…"열매솎기 앞당겨야"

올해 길었던 장마로
감귤나무의 자연적인 낙과현상이 일찍 종료됨에 따라
열매솎기 중요성이 커지고 있습니다.

제주도농업기술원은
지난 6월 장마 영향으로 저온이 지속되고
일조량이 떨어지면서
생리낙과가
지난해보다 4일 정도 빠른
지난달 중순 종료됐다고 설명했습니다.

이에따라 감귤나무에 열매가 달리는 착과가 안정되고
더이상 자연적으로 열매가 떨어지지 않게 되면서
농가들은
평년보다 열흘 정도 일찍 열매솎기에 들어가고 있습니다.

농업기술원은 열매솎기 현장 지도반을 편성해
작목반이나 농업인단체 등을 대상으로
현장 교육을 추진하고 지도를 강화할 방침입니다.
