Autopsy conducted on dolphins that died in waters of Jeju
Main cause revealed to be suffocation

Jeju National University, in conjunction with the World Wide Fund for Nature and Seoul National University, has initiated an initiative to conduct autopsies on the Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphin, the porpoise and the common dolphin that were found dead in the waters of Jeju.

The autopsies were held at the Jeju headquarters of the Korea Water Resources Corporation on the 18th.

The results found no fishing lines in the dolphin's digestive tract, but the trachea was filled with bubbles, suggesting that the animal was strangled with a fishing net.

The porpoise, which was found dead last March at Iho Beach, was confirmed to be pregnant with a baby calf.

The purpose for the initiative is to reveal the exact cause of death for the protected marine creatures.

그물에 걸려 질식사 한 것으로 추정되고 있습니다.

이 가운데 지난 3월
이호해수욕장에서 죽은 채 발견된 상괭이는
태어나기 직전인 새끼 고래를 임신한 상태로 확인됐습니다.

이번 부검을 통해 해양보호생물의 정확한 사인을 밝힐 계획인데,
