1. Jeju reports 7 new cases of COVID-19 over 3 days
Province in ‘state of emergency’

Jeju Island has confirmed 7 new cases of COVID 19.

The province announced that the 29th patient, who was classified as a contact of a confirmed patient from Yongin City, Gyeonggido Province, was confirmed to be positive for COVID 19 on the evening of the 24th.

An epidemiological investigation confirmed that the 29th patient is a retired pastor in his 70s and was most likely infected after delivering a sermon on the 16th at Saebit Church in Yongin City of Gyeonggi-do Province.

The patient’s wife was also confirmed positive early Tuesday morning.

Another couple, who are residents of Jeju, visited the Seoul metropolitan area for two days from the 15th to the 16th with their children, and were confirmed positive Monday around 10 p.m.

The couple reported having symptoms of fever.

In addition, a resident of Incheon, who arrived on Jeju Island on the 23rd, was contacted by the Gangnam-gu Health Center in Seoul on the 24th and was confirmed to be positive with COVID 19.

However, this incident sparked controversy as the patient flew back to Incheon on the afternoon of the 24th before the test result was released.

The 34th patient in the province was confirmed additionally on the 25th. The patient visited Seoul for three days from the 15th and also came into contact with the 30th patient on the 18th. Both are employees of JDC.

Patient numbers 29, 30, 31, 33, 34 and 35 have been transferred to negative pressure rooms at the Jeju National University Hospital, and the province is undergoing a thorough case investigation and contact tracing.

역학조사결과
도내 29번 확진자인 A씨는 70대 은퇴 목사로
지난 16일 설교를 위해
경기도 용인시 죽전동에 있는
새빛교회를 방문했던 것으로 확인됐습니다.

A씨의 부인 역시
25일 새벽 양성판정을 받은 것으로 확인됐습니다.

이와함께
자녀와 함께 지난 15일과 16일까지 이틀 동안
수도권 지역을 방문했던
부부도 어젯밤 10시쯤 확진 판정을 받았습니다.

이들 부부는
각각 발열증상을 보이고 있는 것으로 전해졌습니다.

또 23일 제주에 들어 온 인천시 주민이
24일 서울 강남구보건소에서 연락을 받고
검사한 결과 확진 판정을 받았습니다.

하지만 검사결과가 나오기 전인 24일 오후
비행기를 타고
인천으로 돌아간 것으로 확인돼 논란이 일고 있습니다.

제주도는 도내에 있는 29번, 30번, 31번, 33번 확진자를
제주대학교 병원 음압병상으로 이송하는 한편,
확진자들의 접촉자를 조사하고 있습니다.
