1. Province increases number of isolation beds
Re-designates infectious disease hospitals

Amid the continued spread of COVID 19 on the island, the provincial government has secured nearly 300 additional isolation beds.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare accepted the Jeju Provincial Government's proposal on the 31st of last month to re-designate infectious disease hospitals and adjust the number of beds at Jeju National University Hospital.

As a result, the Jeju Medical Center and Seogwipo Medical Center were re-designated as infectious disease hospitals, which secured an additional 200 and 51 beds, respectively. Meanwhile, Jeju National University Hospital also added 46 beds to make a total of 68 beds available for infectious diseases.

The number of COVID19 treatment beds in the province has significantly increased from 22 to nearly 320.

1. 공공의료원 '감염병전담병원' 재지정…병상 확보

코로나19 확산세가 이어지고 있는 가운데
제주도가 격리 병상을 300개 가까이 추가 확보하게 됐습니다.

제주도에 따르면,
보건복지부는 지난달 31일
제주도가 제안한 감염병전담병원 재지정과
제주대학교병원 병상 확대 조정안을 수용했습니다.

이에따라
제주의료원과 서귀포의료원이
제주지역 감염병전담병원으로 재지정돼
각각 200병상과 51병상을 확보하게 됐고,
제주대병원도 기존 22병상에서 46병상 늘어난
68병상을 마련하게 됐습니다.

이에따라 기존 22개에 그쳤던
도내 코로나 치료 병상이 320개 가까이 늘어나게 됩니다.
