Support funds for small businesses double after COVID-19
Government recommends over ₩870B in loans

It has been estimated that the number of SMEs and small business owners who received financial support in Jeju has doubled from last year, due to the economic hardships brought on by COVID-19.

The province reported that more than 20,000 loan recommendations worth 870 billion won were provided to SMEs and small business owners that applied for management stabilization funds up until last month.

This amount has doubled from the same period last year, and is attributed to the rapid increase in demand for funds as the economy continues to deteriorate due to the prolonged COVID-19 fallout.

By industry, wholesale and retail businesses accounted for the largest portion with 6,500 applicants, followed by restaurants, specialized construction and manufacturing.

제주도에 따르면,
올 들어 지난달까지
경영안정자금을 신청한 도내 중소기업과 소상공인을 대상으로
2만 100여 건, 8천 700억 여원 규모의
융자 추천이 지원됐습니다.

이 같은 규모는 지난해 같은 기간보다 2배 가량 늘어난 것으로
코로나19 장기화에 따른
기업의 경영악화가 지속되면서
경영안정자금 수요가 급증했기 때문으로 풀이되고 있습니다.

업종별로는 도.소매업이 6천 500여 건으로 가장 많았고
일반음식점업, 전문건설업, 제조업 등이 뒤를 이었습니다.
