Jeju Island pushing for a reform in province’s social distancing policies
Revamped system will reflect Jeju’s unique characteristics

The provincial government will update Jeju Island’s social distancing plan following the national government's decision to reform the social distancing system.

The nation’s 3-tier social distancing system was reorganized by the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters to include an additional 2 levels, and a new 5-tier system was introduced.

The province will also establish a revamped social distancing system catered to Jeju that accommodates Jeju's unique characteristics.

The province will maintain the first level that has been in effect since October 12th, but will draw up a plan that is better suited to Jeju by taking advantage of the past cases and experiences of COVID-19 on the Island.

The province will also review existing cases of Jeju’s current quarantine system, such as the mandatory use of masks and imposition of fines for breaking quarantine protocols.

다만, 마스크 착용 의무화와 과태료 부과 등
제주형 특별방역 행정조치를 포함한
기존 대응 사례에 대해서도 제주 실정에 맞게 재검토할 계획입니다.
