Full-scale conversion to alternative water supply in Seogwipo
Turbid water, weak pressure may occur

The operation of the Gangjeong water purification plant in Seogwipo City, the site of the larvae contamination, has been temporarily suspended since November 1, and an alternative water supply is in operation.

The Jeju provincial government announced that a full-scale alternative water supply for the downtown area of Seogwipo has been operational since the evening of November 1st.

However, the province noted that the alternative supply could cause turbid water and weak water pressure, and are planning emergency measures to counter those issues.

Jeju Island has completed the replacement supply of the drainage reservoirs for Sammaebong, Gogunsan Mountain, Seogwipo New City, and the Tourism Complex from the 26th to the afternoon of November 1st. The province has also secured enough spare water to replace the existing amount of 21,000 tons per day previously supplied by the Gangjeong water purification plant.

제주도는 1일 저녁 6시부터
서귀포시 시내 지역에 대해
전면 대체 급수를 실시했다고 밝혔습니다.

다만 이번 대체 공급으로
탁수 발생과 수압 약화가 국지적으로 발생할 수 있다며
급수 불량 지역이 발생하면 긴급 조치할 방침입니다.

앞서 제주도는
지난 26일부터 11월 1일 오후까지
삼매봉과 고근산, 신도시, 관광단지 배수지 대체 공급을 완료하고
기존 강정 정수장의 공급 물량인
1일 2만 1천톤을 대체할 여유물랑을 확보했습니다.
