Governor Won pushes forward Songaksan Mountain to be designated as cultural property
Development in the area will be restricted

Jeju Governor Won Hee-ryong has decided to restrict further development and exploitation of land by designating the Songaksan Mountain as a cultural asset. This was the first follow-up measure since his last speech at the Songaksan Mountain.

Governor Won held a press conference on the morning of the 2nd where he announced that he is pushing for Songaksan Mountain to be designated as cultural property. Once, designated, development will be restricted within 500 meters. Songaksan Mountain is known for its untouched natural scenery, historical value, and nationally registered cultural assets and natural monuments.

It is predicted that if the research process for the cultural property designation will start in January of next year and an application is submitted to the Cultural Heritage Administration by December of the same year, the official designation of the cultural property could be announced by April 2022.

Governor Won added that during the process of purchasing the site from the current landowner, he will continue with his plans even if the landowners file a lawsuit for damages to their business.

문화재 지정 공고할 수 있을 것으로 내다봤습니다.

원 지사는
현재 개발사업자의 부지를 매입하는 한편
사업자가 사업상 손해를 이유로
소송을 제기하더라도
마다하지 않겠다고 덧붙였습니다.
