Cost of kimchi estimated at ￦309,000 for family of four
Prices of ingredients dropped sharply after large scale distribution

As the full-scale shipment of cabbage and radish has begun, the cost of making kimchi has decreased.

The prices of thirteen ingredients that are frequently used in kimchi-making were monitored at traditional markets and large supermarkets nationwide by the Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Trade Corporation. The corporation has analyzed that the price of kimchi for a family of four is about 309,000 won.

This is a 23% decrease from 3 weeks ago.

According to the survey, after the increase of volume of shipment, the prices of cabbage and radish fell 52 percent and 28 percent, respectively, while chili powder, which had a poor harvest this year, rose by 6 percent.

4인가족 기준 김장비용은 30만9천원 정도인 것으로 조사됐습니다.

이는 3주 전보다 23% 하락한 가격입니다.

품목별로는
본격적인 출하기를 맞아 출하량이 늘어난 배추와 무는
각각 52%와 28% 하락한 반면, 작황이 부진한 고춧가루는 6% 상승한 것으로 조사됐습니다.
