Science tells us that cancer patients and people with chronic health issues experience the healing wonders of forest bathing.
The island’s public health centers’ forest healing program is gaining popularity.
Joseph Kim reports.

Relaxing music plays from the entrance of the (오름) oreum.
People in a circle are warming up by following the instructor's demonstration.
After that, they begin to hike the trail.
They meet with trees and unknown grass on the trail of the hill.
Surrounded by dark green woods, they feel connected with the environment.
They believe that spending mindful time in the woods is beneficial for the body and soul.

This is a part of the program provided by the Seogwipo Public Health Center and the (동부) Dongbu Public Health Center in Jeju City for patients with cancer and other chronic conditions.

The program includes meditation and healthy dance which are believed to boost the immune system.
Participants who are weary on the long course of battling a chronic disease enjoy the program.

The program is receiving positive reviews as it is believed that time spent under the green canopy is beneficial in fighting a number of diseases and conditions.
