Hallasan Mountain tour reservations to resume next year
1,500 visitors can hike up to the summit a day

The Hallasan Mountain National Park Tour Reservation System, which had been suspended due to COVID-19 as well as opposition from the tourism industry, will resume operations in January next year.

The Jeju provincial government announced that the tour reservation system will resume next year but will open up the online reservation system to receive pre-bookings starting next month.

The number of hikers on the two trails that lead to the summit of the mountain will be capped. The Seongpanak course will be limited to 1,000 visitors a day, and the Gwaneumsa course will be limited to 500 visitors. The other trails on the mountain will have no limitations.

Prior to implementing the reservation system, Jeju Island will expand the number of automatic entrances of each trail to two and restrict future reservations for 3 months up to a year for visitors who do not show up after making a reservation.

코로나19 여파와 관광업계 반발로 중단됐던
한라산국립공원 탐방예약제가 내년 1월부터 다시 운영됩니다.

제주도는 한라산 탐방예약제를 내년에 재개하기로 하고
다음달부터 탐방예약 시스템을 통해
사전 예약을 받는다고 밝혔습니다.

하루 탐방객은 한라산 정상 등반이 가능한
성판악 코스는 1천명,
관음사 코스는 500명 등 1천 500명으로 제한됩니다.

제주도는 탐방예약제 시행에 앞서
각 코스의 자동 출입구를 1곳에서 2곳으로 확대하고,

예약 이후 방문하지 않는 이른바 '노쇼' 탐방객에 대해서는
3개월에서 1년까지 예약을 제한하기로 했습니다.
