Public petition for fair delivery charges pushed forward
Province urges residents to sign online petition

A national petition that is calling for fair delivery rates to Jeju is being pushed forward.

Jeju Island and the Jeju Green Consumer Network announced that they are filing a petition with the Blue House and the National Assembly demanding a more reasonable system for shipping costs to islands.

The network said imposing a special delivery fee of up to 20,000 won because Jeju constitutes as an island area is an unfair practice and a form of discrimination based on the area of residence. They demanded that the government and the National Assembly come up with reasonable imposition standards and related systems.

The province has urged residents to actively participate in the online petition held this month as more than 200,000 signatures are needed for the government to respond.

판매자의 횡포이자
거주 지역에 따른 역차별이라며
정부와 국회는
합리적 부과 기준과 관련 제도를 마련해야 한다고 주장했습니다.

제주도는
이달 한달 동안 진행되는 국민 청원에
20만 명 이상 참여해야
정부 답변이 이뤄진다며
도민들의 적극적인 동참을 당부했습니다.
