Jinju City's village leaders apologize to Jeju residents
‘Our apathy and carelessness led to COVID-19 outbreak on Jeju’

Jinju City’s village leaders have come under fire for holding training sessions in Jeju that resulted in seven Jeju residents being infected by COVID-19.

The council held a press conference in Jinju on the 4th to apologize to the residents of Jeju Island where it was also announced that all executive branch members that were involved would be resigning.

It was revealed that the council pushed ahead with their travel plans to Jeju despite the spread of infections across the country and Jinju City's recommendation for the training sessions to be canceled this year. The council members expressed their pain and guilt for their apathetic attitude and added that they will make efforts to resolve the situation as soon as possible.
