Jeju Island's social distancing level to remain at 1.5
Province will implement some measures of level 2

With COVID-19 cases on the rise in the nation, the central government has decided to raise the social distancing level in the Seoul metropolitan area to 2.5 and non-metropolitan areas to level 2. Meanwhile, Jeju Island has decided to maintain the current level of 1.5.

The provincial government announced that they made the decision after discussing prospective quarantine measures at a weekly policy coordination meeting on the 7th.

It was decided to keep Jeju Island at the current level, as the daily number of confirmed patients is still below the limit for level 1.5. They said limiting the operation of restaurants and cafes similar to that of Seoul was not yet necessary.

While the level remains at 1.5, the province said that they would also implement a few of the level 2 social distancing practices, such as banning both public and private meetings of over 100 participants and limiting the number of people entering sports events and public facilities.

제주형방역대책 방향을 논의한 결과 이같이 결정했다고 밝혔습니다.

아직까지 일일 확진자 수가 1.5단계 기준이 미치지 못하는 만큼
현재 상황에서 수도권과 같이 식당, 카페 운영을 제한하기는 무리라는
설명입니다.

제주도는 현행 1.5단계를 유지하되
민관 주관 집합 모임행사 100인 이상 금지,
스포츠행사와 공공시설 입장인원 제한 등
사회적 거리두기 2단계
적용 사항 일부를 추가적으로 시행하고 있다고 설명했습니다.
