Blood collection of families of missing 4·3 Incident victims complete
Final analysis to be released next year

The collection of samples of blood of the families related to missing persons of the 4.3 Incident has been completed.

The Jeju 4.3 Peace Foundation announced that 115 bereaved family members have participated in the month-long process of the blood collection program since last month.

The blood will be analyzed at the Institute of Forensic of Anthropological Science of Seoul National University, and it will take about a year to confirm identifications.

Of the 405 remains discovered so far, more than 270 are yet to be identified.

채혈 작업이 모두 마무리됐습니다.

제주 4.3 평화재단은
지난 달부터 한 달 동안 진행된
이번 채혈 프로그램에
행불인 유족 115명이 참여했다고 밝혔습니다.

채혈된 혈액은
서울대 법의학연구소로 보내져
유전자 분석 작업이 진행되며
신원 대조 확인 까지는
1년 정도 걸릴 예정입니다.

지금까지 발굴된
희생자 유해 405구 가운데
아직까지 신원이 확인되지 않은
유해는 270구가 넘습니다.
