Province bans gatherings of more than five people
Violations will be punishable by law

As the number of COVID-19 cases has soared in Jeju and across the country, the government has implemented stronger quarantine measures such as restricting private gatherings.

Jeju issued an executive order banning gatherings of more than five people at company dinners and private parties from December 24th to January 3rd.

The order also applies to restaurants, and any restaurant owner who fails to comply will be subject to a fine of up to 3 million won. Customers who violate the rule will also be fined up to 100,000 won and be subject to indemnity claims for any confirmed cases related to them.

Restrictions on religious facilities are also strengthened, with private meetings outside of regular services and mass required to move online and only physically attended by necessary personnel. Shared meals are also prohibited.

Hotels and lodging accommodations will only be allowed to accept reservations up to 50% capacity.

The provincial government will be carrying out rigorous monitoring on the compliance of the new quarantine measures.

제주도는 행정명령을 발동해
24일부터 내년 1월 3일까지
식당을 비롯해 5명 이상의 사적인 모임과 회식,
파티 등을 일체 금지하기로 했습니다.

식당에 5명 이상으로 예약하거나 동반 입장을 금지하고
위반한 운영자에게는 300만 원 이하,
이용자에게는 10만 원 이하 과태료가 부과되며
확진자가 발생할 경우 구상권을 청구할 방침입니다.

종교시설에 대해서는
정규 예배나 미사, 법회 등은 필수 인원을 제외하고
비대면 진행이 원칙이며
모임이나 식사 등은 금지됩니다.

숙박시설은 객실의 50% 이내로 예약을 제한하고
객실 내 정원을 초과하는 인원은
숙박할 수 없게 됩니다.

제주도는 소관 부서별로 연말연시 특별 방역대책 이행 여부를 집중 점검할 계획입니다.
