Province to survey preparedness of essential industries and workers
Passes ordinance for protection of essential workers

Jeju Island will investigate the preparedness of essential industries in the province for disasters such as COVID-19.

This survey aims to discover and designate essential industries that need to be sustained in order to protect lives and provide social functions for the residents in the community even in the event of a disaster.

Once designated as a mandatory industry, they will be protected from the risk of exposure to infection or industrial accidents and receive support to improve vulnerable working conditions.

Earlier, at the 389th extraordinary meeting of the provincial assembly, the ordinance for the protection of essential workers was passed.

이번 조사는
재난이 발생한 경우에도
도민 생명과 보호, 사회 기능을 유지하기 위해
지속될 필요가 있는
필수 업종을 발굴하고 지정하기 위한 것입니다.

필수 업종으로 지정되면
감염 또는 산업재해 노출 위험으로부터 보호받고
취약한 근무여건을 개선받기 위해 지원 받게 됩니다.

앞서 지난 제389회 도의회 임시회에서는
필수업종 노동자에 대한 지원 근거인
필수노동자 보호 지원 조례가 통과된 바 있습니다.
