Government accepts additional reports from victims of 4·3 Incident
Ministry to simplify procedure and qualifications for status

The Ministry of Public Administration and Security will accept additional reports from victims and bereaved families of the 4.3 Incident until June.

The ministry will also take measures to simplify the required documents and lower the guarantor qualification status so that victims based outside the province can also submit their reports.

Residents of Jeju Island can submit their reports in the administrative city as well as local community centers, while overseas residents can make reports through diplomatic establishments and overseas Jeju residents' organizations.

So far, a total of 94,985 people have been recognized as victims and bereaved families of the 4.3 Incident.

3. 정부, 4·3 희생자·유족 추가신고 접수

행정안전부가 오는 6월까지
4.3사건 희생자와 유족을 대상으로 추가신고를 접수합니다.

특히 이번 추가 신고부터 첨부 서류를 간소화하고
도외에 본적을 둔 희생자도 신고 가능하도록
보증인 자격을 완화합니다.

추가 신고는
도민의 경우 제주도와 행정시, 읍면동 주민센터에서 가능하고
재외도민의 경우
거주하는 시·도의 제주도민회,
외국 거주자는
재외공관과 외국소재 제주도민단체를 통해 가능합니다.

한편 지금까지 신고를 통해
모두 9만 4천 985명이 희생자와 유족으로 인정받았습니다.
