Four-term former legislator from Jeju elected following Japan’s consent

Former legislator Kang Chang-il from Jeju has been officially appointed as ambassador to Japan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Friday that they have elected Kang Chang-il as the ambassador to Japan following Japan's consent.

Kang served as a four-term legislator from the 17th to the 20th National Assembly, and as a recipient of both a master's and doctorate degree in Eastern history from Tokyo University, he served as chairman of the Korea-Japan Parliamentarians' Union during his days as a legislator.

일본의 동의를 받고
8일 주일본대사로 임명했다고 밝혔습니다.

강 신임 대사는
지난 17대부터 20대 국회까지 4선 의원을 지냈고,
도쿄대에서 동양사학으로
석·박사 학위를 받은 일본통으로
국회의원 시절 한일의원연맹 회장 등을 역임했습니다.
