Concerns over crop damage caused by snowstorm
Province urges heightened maintenance measures

Heavy snowfall and the record-breaking temperatures are feared to have caused damage to winter crops.

As winter radishes can freeze in sub-zero temperatures that last for more than two days, the Jeju Agricultural Research and Extension Services requested that radishes weighing 1kg be harvested in advance and stored before being shipped.

They also emphasized the need to prevent snow accumulation and the maintenance of appropriate temperatures and humidity levels by running a hot air fan for greenhouse crops, such as tangerines and strawberries.

The province is urging farmers to take heightened maintenance measures, as the most recent snowstorm is reminiscent of the snowstorm in 2018, when 400 hectares of winter radishes were damaged.

쌓인 눈을 치우고 열풍기를 가동해
적당한 온도와 습도를 유지해야 한다고
강조했습니다.

한편 지난 2018년 폭설 피해로
월동무 400ha가 냉해 피해를 입었습니다.
