Province requests investigation into alleged abuse of Safety Code
BTJ at center of controversy over location manipulation

Jeju quarantine authorities have requested a police investigation into the alleged abuse of the Jeju Safety Code by the BTJ Center, a case which was previously reported by KCTV.

Jeju Island said in a briefing on the 15th that they are looking into related cases nationwide as they examine allegations that visitors of the BTJ center abused the safety code to lie about their travel routes.

The province announced that there have been no confirmed cases of abuse of the safety code for those who have been to the BTJ center in Jeju, and added that they will request a police investigation to clear suspicions.

Meanwhile, the province will work on improving the Safety Code’s GPS function, as it has come to their attention that the current system can easily be manipulated to alter location information.

안심코드를 악용한 사례가 없다면서도
의혹을 해소하기 위해
경찰에 수사 의뢰할 계획이라고 덧붙였습니다.

한편 제주도는
제주안심코드를 악용해 위치 정보를 속일 수 있는
문제점이 확인된 만큼
GPS 기능을 고도화하는 개선 작업에 나서기로 했습니다.
