Province strengthens measures to stabilize price of tangerines
Rigorous screening to take place ahead of Lunar New Year

As tangerine prices have been steadily rising in the new year, Jeju Island will focus on enacting measures to stabilize market prices.

Most of the harvest is expected to be complete and shipped before the Lunar New Year holiday, and the province will undergo thorough screenings to ensure that low-quality products are not being distributed.

They will also isolate large mandarins from the market, as well as run a promotion campaign on both online and offline platforms.

The bid price of Jeju tangerines hit as low as 5,000 won per 5kg, but has now risen to the 9,000 won range in the new year.
