10 missing prisoners of 4.3 Incident acquitted
Victims were wrongfully sentenced for alleged rebellion

Victims of the 4.3 Incident who went missing during imprisonment have been acquitted in a retrial 70 years later.

On the 21st, Senior Judge Jang Chan-soo of the Jeju District Court acquitted 10 missing prisoners of the 4.3 Incident, including Oh Hyung-ryul (오형률), who were wrongfully sentenced to prison for allegedly committing rebellious acts and violating the Defense Security Act.

The court again explained the reasons for the acquittal, emphasizing that such tragedies must not happen again.
