Province will prosecute quarantine absconders
22 people found to be in violation

There have been successive cases of people breaking quarantine on Jeju Island.

During a routine unannounced inspection by the province, three people were caught leaving their cellphones behind and breaking quarantine on the 19th and 20th.

There have also been cases of unauthorized departures from quarantine sites for personal reasons before the completion of their mandatory isolation.

Jeju Island has a zero tolerance policy for quarantine violations, and the province has issued GPS wristbands for the violators and will be prosecuting them under law.

To date, a total of 22 people have been identified as quarantine absconders.

자가격리 해제를 앞두고 개인 용무를 이유로
격리지를 무단 이탈했다가 적발된 사례도 나왔습니다.

제주도는 무관용 원칙에 따라
이들 이탈자에 대해 안심밴드 착용과 고발 조치할 방침입니다.

한편 제주지역 자가격리 무단이탈자는
지금까지 22명으로 파악됐습니다.
