7 provincial councilors make appeal for 4·3 Special Act amendment
Request cooperation from Democratic Party, People Power Party

Seven lawmakers, including Chairman Joa Nam-su of the Jeju Provincial Council, visited the National Assembly on the 28th and requested cooperation with the 4.3 Special Act amendment.

They met with Lee Nak-yon, who is chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, along with Chairman Kim Chong-in of the People Power Party’s emergency countermeasures committee, to submit a proposal to process the 4.3 Special Law. They appealed for cooperation in order to ensure the passage of the 4.3 Special Act amendment during the extraordinary assembly.

The proposal stated that the central government is failing to fulfill its duties to provide restitution for damages that were inflicted during the 4.3 Incident.

4.3특별법 처리 촉구 건의문을 전달하고
이번 임시국회에서 반드시 처리될 수 있도록 협력을 호소했다고 밝혔습니다.

건의문에는 4.3으로 고통을 겪고 있는 희생자와 유족들에 대한
피해 회복이 필요하지만,
국가가 그 책무를 제대로 이행하고 있지 않다는 내용 등이
담겨 있는 것으로 전해졌습니다.
