Jeju City receives grade A on traffic culture index
City moves up to 2nd place from 17th
Jeju City has reported a sharp rise in the city’s traffic culture index.
In last year's traffic culture index survey released by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Transport Safety Authority, Jeju ranked second and received a grade A among 29 cities with a population of more than 300,000.
The city moved up 15 spots to take the second spot after ranking 17th in 2019. The island was highly praised for the improvements made in pedestrian conditions at crosswalks and intersections along with increased measures to prevent traffic accidents.
This year, Jeju City plans to reinforce unmanned law enforcement equipment in child protection zones and promote floor traffic lights for crosswalks.

제주시의 교통문화지수가 대폭 상승했습니다 .
제주시는
국토부와 한국교통안전공단이 발표한
지난해 교통문화지수 실태조사에서
인구 30만명을 넘는 전국 29개 시 가운데
A등급인 2위를 차지했다고 밝혔습니다.
이는 전년도 17위에서 15단계나 상승한 것으로
횡단보도와 교차로 보행환경 개선사업과
교통사고 예방시책 등에서 높은 평가를 받았습니다.
제주시는 올해
어린이보호구역내 무인단속장비를 보강하고
횡단보도 바닥 신호등 사업도 추진할 예정입니다.
